If I ever get around to training the skills to fly this ship I'll be using this setup.
High: 5x Heavy Ion II 2x Heavy Nuetron II
Med: MWD II Medium Electrochemical cap booster (800s) Fleeting Web Fleeting 20k scram
Lows: 2x MARII 1x Damage Controll (best i can get) 1x Explosive Hardener II / EANM II 2x MFS II
Just shy of 1000 dps with drones, decent tank with 65%+ on all resistances and a nice damage controll so you have close to 10k effective structure hp.

5x Valks
PWNAGE
With awu5 you should be able to swap 3 of those ions for nuetrons :D, 1.1k dps with a dbl rep setup is sexy :P

Hi: 7x Electron II's (Void ammo)
Med:
10MN AB II X5 Webber 20km warp disruptor Medium Electro cap booster (800 charges)
Lows
2x Med Armor rep II's (440 rep ea.) Explosive armor hardener II 2x Adaptive Nano II's 1600mm Rolled tungsten plate
With the ship bonus the tank on this ship is incredible. easily tanks sentries and other Battleships. If you can afford Named med arnmor reps it would become an insane tanker.
You are going to have a lot of trouble tackling anything with a 1600mm plate on a BC. You will be far less agile than a BS with it.

The sliepnir could hit it further out(18KM).but it should be able to close that gap pretty quick.
Not to sure about the resists either being sleips week point is ken therm(once a t2 invi field is slaped on).
Beleive the only place its better is in repping/boosting ammount.
In a 1v1 I would put money on the Slepnir as it is faster, has longer range guns, and is more cap efficient. These three traits are perfect for kiting. However if the Astarte is able to web it and enter void range say bye bye Slepnir.

Originally by: Wrok Umm...seeing as how both ships are close range the astarte will most likely enter that kind of range as will the spel but again a astar over a slep any day...
If a Slep has the tools to avoid those kind of ranges why would he put himself in a situation in which the Astartes advantages are at full strength. The slep is faster thus it is the one dictating range, so all it would have to do is simply stay 15-20km away where the Astarte's guns become rather useless.

Originally by: Wrok um an astarte can tank a blaterthrons dmg for a bit...I dont thibnk a slep would break an astarstank at 15k 20k range... it would get pretty much tanked all day every day.
An Astarte can tank a blasterthrons dmg for an extended period of time because it has large bonusses to thermal and kenetic resistances so comparing a Slep's dps to a Blaterthron's is rather misleading in this situation. As for being able to tank indefinataly, you cannot be farther from the truth. You will eventually run out of cap charges, at that point your tank fails and you die.

Originally by: Wrok but the fact that you can tank one of the highest DPS ships in game...if not the highest...is godo enough just compareing the two...
Well if the fight is a Megathron vrs Astarte then my money is on the Astarte.
